Customer Rating: Summary: great for multiple rooms Comment: I use this to humidify my 1,300 square-foot house. The highest fan setting is pretty loud, but it's a "white" noise. Most importantly, the wick design is safer than sonic or others in terms of bacteria. Customer Rating: Summary: Does a great job Comment: Works great. Yes it empties one tank at a time - as the manual states. This way you usually only need to fill one tank at a time - if done often enough. Customer Rating: Summary: Big House Humidifier Comment: We have had this product for about a month, and it certainly puts a lot of water in the air. It is a little loud on high speed, but medium speed seems to keep our humidity (2700 sq ft, unit upstairs) in healthy range. I like that it cleans the air, and by the looks of the filter it is at least somewhat effective. Of course that means you need to buy filters, (every month or two) which can be pricey.
One issue is that the automatic feed valve at the bottom of the two tanks doesn't seem to well calibrated. I have to set the tanks just right or only one will feed and the unit will run out of water quickly. I haven't seen this comment before, but I don't see any other way to put the tanks in place, so I'm thinking it's a design flaw. Not a big deal, I recommend this for people humidifying a bigger space. Customer Rating: Summary: QuietCare not so quiet Comment: I did much research before buying this product. I've had it for a few weeks and am disappointed that I have to return it. My only complaint is that the 2 water tanks, which of course are made of hard plastic, make a loud vibration noise when they come in contact with one another even at the lowest fan speed. I don't mind fan noise, but vibration noise makes me crazy. So, I have been running the humidifier on low with only one water tank installed while waiting for a new humidifier to arrive. This time I've chosen one that does not have removable water tanks. I will say that I am impressed that Amazon provides for the easy return of such an item. There are not many online companies that pay your return shipping! In fact, I ordered the replacement humidifier from Amazon for that very reason. Customer Rating: Summary: Does its Job Well - Be Careful When Refilling Comment: I bought one of these a little over a year ago and recently bought a second to replace the first, not because it was defective, but because the water bin split.
I recommend this product, but offer a word of caution: be careful when refilling the 2 water bins. One slipped from my hands, landed on the floor and split. I discovered that it cost almost as much to replace the one water bin (price plus shipping) as it would to replace the entire unit it was somewhere over 50% of the price anyway. I would have had to pay that and still had a unit no longer under warranty. Anyway, I wouldn't have bought the 2nd unit had I not thought it was a good humidifer and a good value (too bad the parts are so expensive).
