The built-in infrared sensor and Artificial Intelligence (AI) Smart-Chip knows when you need to open trash can, and do all the openings and closings for you without touching or step-on anything. No germs on the lid and no odor. Place hand or unwanted debris about 6 inches away from the infrared sensor near the lid. It will open instantly and will close automatically in 5-second after debris has been released and hand moves away. Lid will remain open if debris or hand is within the sensor range. There are two buttons on the front to open and close the lid manually and an on/off switch. Use 4 D sized batteries. Batteries last up to one year. Summary: Love it love it love it!!!!
Comment: I have owned this product for a while now and I love it. I also purchased with it the AC adapter and wheels and I am so glad I did. Easy to move to clean under and don't have to worry about batteries. I use this in my home and it looks great!!!! Everyone who comes to my home comments how they like it and asked me where did you get this? I love the auto open feature and as of date it has always worked with no problems. The size is great and with the inside ring to to hold the bag it also makes ti easy to remove and replace bag. Highly recommend this product and I would also advise buying the AC adapter and wheels (they were easy to put on). With the great look of this product you can place it anywhere and not have to worry about hidding your trash can.

Comment: This trashcan is not one for under the sink or to store in a cabinet as it's too large....could be placed in a closet though. I leave mine out in plain view for ease of use and it's very attractive so that works. I use it with 30-33 gallon trashcan liners. I also purchased the "touchless AC adaptor" simply to save on battery use. I purchased the trashcan just before Christmas and my holiday guests were very impressed with it.

Summary: Best trash can ever
Comment: I have had cheap plastic ones,expensive (but not worth it) simple human ones, step lids, no lids and manual lidded cans. This can really is the best. My wife and I used to empty the trash daily, now it's weekly and the sealed lid/trash bag retainer ring keeps all the funky smells inside. We have the 22gal model and use 35 gal black trash bags that you can buy in bulk.

The can is very sturdy thick steel (much more stable when compared to the simple human can I had before.) The sensor and lid work great. We didn't opt for the AC power pack at first and that was a mistake because I could have saved on shipping. Don't walk, run and buy this can. It looks great, is functional and worth every penny.

Summary: Wish I had bought sooner
Comment: After trying numerous inexpensive trash cans I finally shelled out the cash for this one. Yes, its pricey, but the thing is huge, and as beautiful as a trashcan, can be. The sensor doesn't seem to be oversensitive and regular trash bags work. I like that the trash bag doesn't show on the outside. I did buy the plug in cord for this and would recomend that. I bought the wheels but will probably return those as I don't seem to need them.

I received this the day before thanksgiving right before 14 guests arrived. They all loved it and wanted to know where to buy one. Even the kids were throwing things in the trash can!

Summary: Great product, but not if it breaks
Comment: I really enjoyed the 22 gallon iTouchless trashcan. I received it on or about August 3, 2007 and had absolutely no problems assembling it. I received the adapter a few days later and could not possibly have been happier.

That is, until the motion detector stopped working. I tried cleaning it, turning it off and on, changing the batteries, changing the electrical outlet. Nothing worked.

I emailed Amazon and the manufacturer. No reply from 2 emails to the manufacturer. Amazon's policy is: over 30 days, you're out of luck.

Now I have a nice garbage can that I paid $179.00 (can and adaptor) for that doesn't work. :)
